Description: The 2019 ODFW Priority Barriers Dataset is a subset of the features found in the Oregon Fish Passage Barrier Data Standard (OFPBDS) Database. Documentation for the OFPBDS can be found online at http://www.oregon.gov/DAS/EISPD/GEO/docs/bioscience/OregonFishPassageBarrierDataStandardv1dot1.pdf.Consistent with OAR 635-412-0015, staff used the information available at each barrier to create a prioritization equation based on the needs of native migratory fish.ODFW accomplished this by selecting the highest priority barriers within each of the 18 ODFW Fish Districts across the State. Then scoring each artificial obstruction based on standardized methods to develop a list of statewide priority barriers that are ranked within similar groups. All datasets are subject to update as new information becomes available.Key features of the Oregon Fish Habitat Distribution Data include: species, run, life history, habitat use, origin, production, the basis for each record, originator name, originator entity and reference. Habitat distribution data are mapped at a 1:24,000 scale statewide and are based on the National Hydrography dataset. The data are made available as GIS files in both shapefile and ESRI geodatabase format. The data were developed over an extensive time period ranging from 1996 to 2021. The data are now managed on the National Hydrography Dataset and have been synchronized to April 2019 NHD geometry.

Description: This dataset represents an aggregated measure of crucial habitat for species of interest to the Oregn Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW). Crucial habitat describes places that are expected to contain the resources necessary for continued health of fish and wildlife populations or important ecological systems expected to provide high value for a diversity of fish and wildlife. The Western Governors' Wildlife Council (WGWC) defined crucial habitat for fish and wildlife to include several data types and input layers: Habitat for Terrestrial and/or Aquatic Species of Concern (SOC), Native and Unfragmented Habitat (which may include landscape condition, large natural areas, natural vegetetaion communities, ecological systems of concern, landscape corridors, and/or freshwater integrity), Riparian and wetland habitat, Connectivity or linkage areas (wildlife corridors), and Habitat for terrestrial and/or aquatic species of economic or recreational importance. ODFW staff compiled data encompassing all of the above categories and then ranked areas as “crucial habitat” using a relative, six-level prioritization scheme, where 1 represents areas “most crucial,” or those areas that most closely meet the definition of crucial habitat based on the WGWC definitions; and 6 represents “least crucial” areas, or those areas that least closely meet the definition of crucial habitat based on the WGWC definitions. Crucial habitat values are in no way regulatory and do not imply specific avoidance or mitigation measures for a given area. Crucial habitat values should be interpreted as the relative probability, or risk, that a high-priority species or habitat would be encountered in a given area based on the best available scientific information.

Description: The Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act requires that regional management councils describe "essential fish habitat" in their fishery management plans; that Councils minimize impacts on this essential habitat from fishing activities; and that Councils and other federal agencies consult with the National Marine Fisheries Service about activities that might harm EFH. Actions that occur outside of EFH, but that might affect the habitat, must also be taken into account. The final rule of "Fisheries Off West Coast States; West Coast Salmon Fisheries; Amendment 18 to the Salmon Fishery Management Plan" was published in the Federal Register / Vol. 79, No. 243/ Thursday, December 18, 2014. Geospatial data was based on information in that document in Table 1 to Part 660, Subpart H - Pacific Salmon EFH Identified by USGS Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC). It pertains to Chinook, coho, and pink salmon. This data is the geospatial representation of the final rule.

Description: This dataset is a digital soil survey and generally is the most detailed level of soil geographic data developed by the National Cooperative Soil Survey. The information was prepared by digitizing maps, by compiling information onto a planimetric correct base and digitizing, or by revising digitized maps using remotely sensed and other information.This dataset consists of georeferenced digital map data and computerized attribute data. The map data are in a state-wide extent format and include a detailed, field verified inventory of soils and miscellaneous areas that normally occur in a repeatable pattern on the landscape and that can be cartographically shown at the scale mapped. The soil map units are linked to attributes in the National Soil Information System relational database, which gives the proportionate extent of the component soils and their properties.

Description: Database of Montana Counties created to be coincident with the Montana Cadastral Parcel Boundaries. Where county boundaries are coincident with public land survey section lines, they were copied from the BLM's Geographic Coordinate Database (GCDB). If boundaries were not coincident with GCDB lines, they were digitized on screen from 1:24,000 scale Geological Survey Digital Raster Graphics (DRGs). County Boundaries will change as the GCDB is adjusted by the BLM and those data are imported into the Cadastral Data Model.
